But if you are too weak to drink one or two beers and they make you sick or you can’t stop until your drunk or your too pious or religious to have beer .. Then fine … Don’t have beer. But to say it’s pathetic to have beer in moderation is nothing but religious bull shit … Heck just as Jeus made the best wine in the house on that wedding day so also He might even make a great batch of brew … Get educated and get real …

I’m glad you mentioned hope. In the last year or so I’ve decided that there’s way more to what hope is all about that what most people probably figure out.

Maybe the perfect answer is that God is always enough” (Isa 46:3b-4), and we don’t need to give up on having an answer. I’m not saying that’s easy for the person struggling, but giving up would essentially be giving in to the sin of believing the opposite (James 4:17). But I think you are right that most of the time we live in a gap, but that’s the part that matters. God’s Word is clear that our life isn’t about the good times, especially since the best times are when God is closest, which is mostly during hard times, so despite the paradox, we can truly experience joy during trials. Not a silly sing-song type of joy, but a deep, meaningful hope (Rom 5:2b-5; I Pet 1:3-4).
